Emergency for Cranes

The frequency converter – electronic device for changing the frequency of the current (voltage). It converts the input sinusoidal voltage of fixed frequency and amplitude of the starting pulse voltage of variable frequency and amplitude by means of PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) .Such way gradually increasing the frequency and amplitude of voltage supplied to the stator windings of the induction motor, it is possible to ensure a smooth speed control the motor shaft.

Advantages of frequency inverters on the hoisting cranes:

  • Smooth start and drive stop retaining moment. In practice, this gives a completely unstressed work mechanism, saving the gearbox and the coupling half against wear;
    Braking mechanism provided by the motor. The brake is applied on the already stopped drive only to hold the mechanism in a stopped state. Wear of the brake linings is reduced by 99%;
    Ability to reduce / increase the nominal motor shaft turns;
    Maximum motor overload protection, short circuit, phase failure, etc.

During the work on the crane:

  • dismantled all the old wiring, control panels, PCO, brake resistance unit;
    if necessary, dismantled controls, crane lighting and limit switches;
    It occurs after the installation of new wiring installation cabinet (s) with a frequency converter control unit (s) of the braking resistors, radio control from the control panel;
    Further there is a start-up electric crane circuit configuration of frequency converters and the test tap.

Deadlines:

  • Calculation of the electrical value after specifying the customer data – 1 day;
    Manufacture of electrical equipment kit – 10 – 40 days (depending on the complexity of the crane and the availability of materials, frequency inverters on their own stock)
